Sedona, Arizona, has been on my travel list for as long as I can remember, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint. With its jaw-dropping red rock landscapes, peaceful energy, and a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, Sedona is one of those places that just feels special.
Whether you’re into hiking, stargazing, or just soaking up incredible views, Sedona has something for everyone. I already can’t wait to go back, but for now, here’s a peek into my trip and why I think Sedona should be at the top of your list too.
The Red Rocks: Views for Days
If there’s one thing that defines Sedona, it’s the iconic red rock formations. They’re everywhere you look, and they’re absolutely stunning. I spent so much time just staring at them—morning, noon, and night.
For the best views, I highly recommend heading to Cathedral Rock. Whether you hike the trail (it’s a bit challenging but worth it!) or just admire it from afar, it’s a must-see. Another favorite spot of mine was Bell Rock—it’s great for both easy strolls and more adventurous hikes.
And don’t miss Airport Mesa for sunset. The way the rocks light up as the sun dips below the horizon is pure magic. Bring a blanket, a drink, and someone you love, and enjoy the show.
Outdoor Adventures
Sedona is an outdoor lover’s dream. If you’re into hiking, you’ll have your pick of trails for every skill level. Some of my favorites were the Devil’s Bridge Trail, where you can walk across a stunning natural rock arch, and Fay Canyon, which is an easier hike but still offers amazing views.
For something a little more spiritual, I joined an incredible vortex tour with Arizona Safari Jeep Tours. The guide took us to some of Sedona’s most powerful vortex spots and shared fascinating stories about the area’s energy and history. It was an unforgettable way to explore Sedona’s mystical side!

Sedona’s Energy: Peace and Vortexes
One thing Sedona is famous for is its vortexes—places where the Earth’s energy is said to be especially strong. Whether or not you believe in that kind of thing, there’s no denying the peaceful, almost magical vibe of the area.
I visited a few vortex spots, like Boynton Canyon and Airport Mesa, and I also made it to Rachel’s Knoll (also called Rachel’s Landing). It’s a hidden gem that offers incredible views and a serene atmosphere. Sitting there, surrounded by the red rocks, I felt such a deep sense of calm—it’s one of my favorite spots in Sedona.
Where to Eat in Sedona
You know I couldn’t visit Sedona without diving into the food scene! I was blown away by the variety of delicious options — from casual cafes to upscale dining with unforgettable views.
One standout was Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill. This restaurant is an absolute gem, with stunning panoramic views of Sedona’s red rocks and a menu full of creative, flavorful dishes. Every bite felt like an experience, and the atmosphere was the perfect balance of upscale and welcoming.
For something more casual, I loved The Hudson! The cocktails and comfort food were just what I needed after a day of hiking. Another great spot for a quick and delicious bite is Tortas de Fuego, a local favorite serving up incredible Mexican food. Their tortas (Mexican sandwiches) are packed with flavor, and their tacos are some of the best in town. It’s the perfect place for an authentic, no-frills meal that hits the spot after a long day of exploring.
Where to Stay: Sedona’s Dreamiest Hotels
Enchantment Resort
Nestled in the stunning Boynton Canyon, Enchantment Resort offers the perfect mix of luxury and nature. The views here are unreal—think towering red rocks and sweeping desert vistas from every angle. Their spa, Mii amo, is a destination in itself, with incredible treatments inspired by Native American traditions. Whether you’re hiking directly from the property, lounging by the pool, or soaking up the energy of the canyon, this place feels like pure magic.
Ambiente – A Landscape Hotel
For a truly unique stay, Ambiente is the place to be. This one-of-a-kind landscape hotel blends seamlessly into the natural surroundings, with sleek, modern cube-shaped villas that offer 360-degree views of Sedona’s red rocks. Each villa comes with its own rooftop deck—perfect for stargazing—and the hotel’s focus on sustainability makes it even more special. Ambiente is all about privacy, relaxation, and connecting with Sedona’s incredible landscape.
The Stars at Night
I can’t talk about Sedona without mentioning the night sky. Sedona is a designated Dark Sky Community, which means the stargazing here is absolutely incredible. From my peaceful evenings soaking in the private hot tub at Enchantment Resort to the breathtaking 360-degree views from the rooftop patio at Ambiente, the stars felt impossibly close and endlessly mesmerizing. It’s the kind of beauty that makes you pause, take a deep breath, and feel completely in awe of the universe.
